Whether you're a seasoned explorer or just out for a fun-filled day, our quest is a perfect mix of excitement and challenge for everyone. All ages are welcome! Just remember, adventurers under 18 need an adult sidekick. So, what are you waiting for? Sign up for one or both of our thrilling Quest locations and let the fun memories begin!
Welcome, Nature Explorers!🌲🌿 Before you embark on the thrilling journey of our Nature Riddle Quest, please read the following instructions carefully. Remember, the riddles will be available on our website one hour before the Quest begins, so bookmark the Riddle Page after registering!
Register to Participate:
Sign up for the Nature Riddle Quest! Families, friends, or groups need only one registration form. Pick a fun group name, choose a group leader, and list the full legal names and birth dates for of all members. Remember, each Quest is unique, so register separately for each one you want to join.
Complete the Liability Waiver:
After registering, complete the Liability Waiver. Each member aged 18 and older must complete the form. Group leaders, please share the link with your team. For members under 18, include their names in the designated section. Missing this step means missing out on the fun!
Age Requirement: Participants must be 18+ years old (under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
Everyone Must Register: Participation requires registration!
Riddle Release:
The riddles will be available online one hour before the Quest. Remember to bookmark the Riddle Page after registering. Bring a notebook and pen, or use any method that works best for cracking them!
Solve and Discover: Each riddle leads to a specific nature feature in the quest area. Solve the riddles in any order you prefer.
Hinted: Read the riddles carefully for hints, and enjoy exploring!
Riddle Markers: Flags on trails indicate riddle answer zones.
Riddle Navigation: Participants can solve all riddles without leaving the trail. Please stay on the marked paths at all times.
Winning the Prize: The first person or team to solve all riddles, take selfies, and tag us correctly wins the grand prize! 🏆

Capture the Moment:
Selfie Time! Take a selfie with each discovered nature feature.
Tag Us: Tag Alicia Frizzle’s Instagram and Facebook pages and the location’s social media.
Tracking: Number your photos (1, 2, 3, etc.) for easy tracking.
Stay Together: Team members must stick together and be present in all team selfies.

No Check-In Required:
Wander through nature at your own pace. We won’t be available to answer any questions during the Quest, so ask now if you have any!
Respect the Land:
Treat our natural surroundings with the utmost respect as you embark on this Nature Riddle Quest. Avoid forging or destroying any plants, trees, or other natural elements. Keep our beautiful environment clean by not littering. Let's leave no trace and preserve the beauty for everyone to enjoy!
Restroom Facilities: Indoor public restrooms are available at all Quest sites. For your convenience, an outdoor porta-potty is also available at Big Marsh.
Parking Information:
Little Red Schoolhouse: Free onsite parking is available.
Big Marsh: Paid onsite parking is approximately $10 for the duration of the quest.
Trail Etiquette:
Be courteous and respectful to other trail users. Maintain proper trail etiquette by staying on designated paths, yielding when necessary, and keeping noise levels minimal.
Safety Guidelines:
Stay on the Trail. For your safety and the to protect wildlife and the growing species, do not go off the trail. Our riddles will always lead you on the designated paths. Keep an eye on your step and be aware of your surroundings. Stay alert to avoid tripping hazards and wildlife. Do Not Feed Wildlife. Please refrain from feeding any wildlife you may encounter. It's important to let our animal family find their natural food sources.
Preparation is Key:
Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Pack a refillable water bottle, a daypack to keep your hands free, a notebook and pen, a fully charged phone, a portable phone charger, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and other essentials to ensure an enjoyable experience.
Grand Prize Collection:
The grand prize will be awarded onsite at the end of the quest to the person or group that answers all the riddles, takes selfies with each group member in the photo, and tags us correctly. The winning participant(s) must collect the prize before leaving; we will not award the prize on any other day. No exceptions.
If you complete the Quest at Big Marsh, meet us at The Ford Calumet Environmental Center. Head to the Nature Center building to collect your prize for the Little Red Schoolhouse. Prizes are awarded on the quest day only!

Big Marsh:
One 3-mile loop paved trail with riddle answers scattered throughout. Public indoor restrooms and porter potties are available onsite.
Little Red Schoolhouse:
Three paved and unpaved trails (Farm Pond Trail 0.3 miles, Black Walnut Trail 1.2 miles, and White Oak Trail 0.2 miles) hold the answers. When wandering on the White Oak Trail, stop when you reach the Yellow Trail—don’t exit the gate. There are no answers beyond that point. Public indoor restrooms are available onsite.
Trail Etiquette:

Stay on the Trail:
Please do not go off the trail for your safety and to protect the growing species. Our riddles will always lead you on the designated paths.
